Mar Walah- Basic Course of East Syriac Language
The Syriac Language Course
A basic course in the Syriac language was
organized under the leadership of the Mar Walah
Syriac Academy at Mount St. Thomas, Kakkanad, with the aim of preserving
this rich heritage and introducing the language to the new generation. The
program seeks to promote the study of Syriac by highlighting its religious and
cultural significance.The Syriac study program was inaugurated by the Major
Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church, Mar
Raphael Thattil. The introductory address was delivered by Mar Tony Neelankavil, Chairman of the Academy. The
Executive Director of the Academy, Fr. Dr. Jobin
Kanjirathinkal, along with the
Syro-Malabar Major Archiepiscopal Chancellor, Fr.
Dr. Abraham Kavilpurayidathil, and the Secretary, Sister Alphonse Jose,
delivered speeches. The classes are led by Fr.
Dr. Francis Pittapillil and Sister Kochuthresia Kavungal.
